Cell phones have emerged as a big problem while driving. People usually make calls from their cell phones while driving. This causes a lot of accidents as the drivers are not able to concentrate on the road and hence they easily get into an accident. Many states have banned talking on cell phones while driving. The ban has deterred a lot of people from using their cell phone for talking while they are on the driving wheel. Anyone who is caught doing so can be persecuted or can be fined. Now that it has been taken care of another problem has emerged which is people texting while driving.
People these days understand that talking on the cell phone can get you into trouble if they are driving at the same time, however they simply text while they drive. What they do not realize is that it is as bad as talking on their phone while driving.
The fact is that it takes much more concentration to type something on the cell phone than simply talking on it. Also, driving while texting one hand or both of them are usually engaged when typing on the phone. This makes for an even dangerous condition. It means that the driver can not control their cars while they are texting. With their hands busy the drivers can actually end up in an accident with another vehicle or by mistake drive their cars off the road, hence causing serious harms to themselves as well as others.
This is why many states have either banned texting and driving or are trying to pass a law to ban it. Some people think of it as curbing their freedom, but in reality, it is helpful in saving their precious lives.
